Jeff Milman Authors Article “Life After War: A Veteran’s Incessant Struggle”
Hodes Milman Liebeck, LLP partner Jeff Milman authored the article, “Life After War: A Veteran’s Incessant Struggle,” featured in Orange County Lawyer magazine.  With plans to withdraw U.S. troops from abroad, the number of veterans will significantly increase; however, veterans continue to face hurdles in seeking medical treatment and recovery for the injuries they suffer from.  Mr. Milman explains that active duty military members are restricted from bringing claims against the United States for personal injuries sustained while fulfilling military duties, and so they must wait until discharge to bring claims for medical negligence or malpractice by the Veterans Administration

Jeff Milman Speaks at Forensic Expert Witness Association “The Role of the Medical Expert – From Consultant to Courtroom”
On May 17, 2011, Jeff Milman  spoke at the Forensic Expert Witness Association “The Role of the Medical Expert – From Consultant to Courtroom” at the Radisson Hotel in Newport Beach. The presentation focused on the aspects of an expert witness’s role in the medical litigation process. Mr. Milman outlined what every expert needs to know when assuming an assignment and present invaluable tips on “how not to get ambushed” along the way. Kevin Liebeck Attended Consumer Attorneys of California Annual Lobby Day
On May 3, 2011, as a board member of the Orange County Trial Lawyers Association, Kevin Liebeck attended the Consumer Attorneys of California Annual Lobby Day in Sacramento.  Annual Lobby Day addresses various proposed bills between consumer attorneys, state legislators and key members of the Capitol’s staff.  The three bills for 2011 Lobby Day include: Uninsured/Underinsured Motorist Coverage (AB 1063: Bradford), Legal Rights of the Elderly and Disabled (SB 558: Simitian), and Pre-dispute Binding Arbitration Agreements (AB 1062: Dickinson). Jeff Milman was quoted in the New York Times and Law 360 commenting on the April recall announcement made by the FDA stemming from the defects in a radiation therapy shield manufactured by Xoft, Inc. The Xoft Axxent Flexishield Mini is a shielding accessory that is intended to allow patients to avoid traditional post-lumpectomy radiation treatments, however has been found to shed tungsten, a heavy metal compound. At least 27 women with breast cancer – who opted to get a lumpectomy rather than a mastectomy – were treated with the Axxent Flexishield at Hoag Memorial Hospital Presbyterian in Newport Beach,
